Matchlock Elephant Gun, India, ca. 1800s,
65″ barrel with 7/8″ bore 85.5″ overall length, one brass band, five areas of copper and brass wire binding barrel to wooden stock, JPR EXP 214709 stamped on barrel at breech, includes ramrod, three clusters of decorative brass studsalong right side. – Pitting on rear of barrel, age cracks to stock, finish scraped off 1′ of wood near muzzle.

    I have two of these matchlock rifles, purchased in England in the mid 1980s. Quite close to your serial #. With one gun stamped “JPR/EXP/214638”

    Both of my guns have an internal push trigger, and do not appear to have the same metal banding as the photo above. Interesting. I have close-up images if anyone is interested.
